Less circling, better scoping, more confidence about what matters.
Software consulting, contract engineering, and technical leadership
Ship the work your production systems depend on.
I’m Trevor Olson. I help founders and engineering teams deliver payments integrations, modernize legacy software, and get important projects moving. Hands-on engineering and technical team leadership, with AI-assisted workflows where they fit the work.
Strategy is useful, but I am most valuable when I can also help ship.
The right support should reduce stress, not create more of it.
Services
A clear starting point. Help through delivery.
Embedded support
Payments and production engineering
I join as a contract software engineer, work in the codebase, and help carry meaningful delivery load without the overhead of a full hiring cycle.
Payments integration consulting →Leadership
Technical team leadership
I lead technical teams through scoping, architecture, planning, and delivery. I help engineers make practical decisions, clarify ownership, and move the work forward alongside the team.
How I support your team →Recovery
Stuck-project recovery
When a project is slipping or no one is quite sure where the bottleneck lives, I help identify the real constraint and create a more workable path.

Agentic development, deployed into your real codebase.
I help teams put agentic development to work where it actually matters: inside existing production codebases. We start with a bounded task, set the checks it needs to pass, and review the result before expanding the workflow.
- Agents take the mechanical load: tests, refactors, migrations, boilerplate, and codebase archaeology.
- Changes pass the tests, static checks, and human review agreed for the codebase.
- Built for legacy: workflows that respect large, messy systems and the code already in production.
- Your team keeps control of direction, architecture, and what actually merges.
Outcomes
Speed up delivery. Raise confidence.
Routine engineering — tests, refactors, migrations, boilerplate — runs in parallel, so your team’s time goes to design and judgment instead of busywork.
Targeted tests, static checks, and review help catch regressions before release. We measure review effort and rework as well as how quickly a task is completed.
Work stays scoped to your codebase, access rules, and deployment process. Your team decides what merges and when it goes live.
Common Situations
When clients tend to reach out.
Usually it is not because they need a generic dev shop. It is because something important is underway and the team needs more experienced leverage than it currently has.
A launch matters
A product, feature, or internal system has real business weight behind it and cannot afford fuzzy execution.
The project is dragging
Progress exists, but it feels heavier than it should. Decisions are blurry, ownership is thin, or the path forward is unclear.
The team needs more depth
Hiring will take too long, but the work still needs experienced judgment and reliable execution right now.
You need both thinking and doing
The real need is not only advice or only coding. It is someone who can see the tradeoffs and still move the work forward.
What I Work On
Where the experience runs deepest.
I am a generalist by range but not by depth. These are the areas where I have shipped real, production-grade work and can move quickly with good judgment.
Payments & fintech
Payment SDKs, Stripe integrations, wallet and bank-debit flows, and the backend plumbing that has to be correct, secure, and auditable.
Legacy modernization
Carefully evolving large, messy monoliths: tightening data-access layers, hardening security, and untangling code without breaking what already ships.
Laravel and legacy modernization →Web & mobile delivery
Feature work and rewrites across React, React Native, and modern TypeScript front ends, backed by PHP/Laravel and Node services.
Testing & delivery infra
End-to-end test suites, CI pipelines, and the deployment scaffolding that lets a team ship often without holding its breath.
Approach
How I usually work.
Find the actual constraint
I start by figuring out what is truly slowing things down: unclear product thinking, weak ownership, technical debt, brittle delivery, or some mix of all three.
Create a path people can follow
Broad goals get turned into clearer next steps, visible tradeoffs, and practical decisions that reduce churn.
Help carry the work across the line
I’m comfortable being hands-on: building, debugging, refining, documenting, and helping the team around me operate with less drag.
About Trevor Olson
This is a personal practice, not a faceless agency.
NoSlo Solutions is how I show up for client work: practical, technically deep, and focused on outcomes over optics. I am most useful when a team needs someone who can understand the business context, make solid technical decisions, and still help with the implementation.
Most of my work lives in real, messy production systems: payments and fintech infrastructure, legacy monoliths that need careful modernization, mobile rewrites, and the test and delivery scaffolding that keeps all of it shippable. I also build and run my own products, so I think like an owner, not just a contractor billing hours.
If you are building something important and need a steady partner to advise, execute, or help unstick the team, that is exactly what this practice is for.

Let’s talk about what needs to ship.
Start with a short conversation about the system, the constraint, and the timing. We’ll decide whether a diagnostic, a scoped project, or ongoing engineering support is the right next step.
